If you have ever hiked through the night in the Israeli desert, you know what an awe-inspiring experience it can be. The light of the full moon makes the desert glow - you often don't even need a flashlight to see the trail. A canopy of stars twinkles overhead and you can enjoy the full power of the desert's beauty without the usual intense heat.

The first ever ALYN Desert Night Hike willtake place on July 18-19th. The hike begins late Thursday night in the Judean Desert. We will hike a total of around 13km along desert trails and through a little-known canyon created by thousands of years of slow erosion that creates a spectacular experience. At sunrise, we will ascend Har Tsfirah to watch the sun come up over the desert hills. See the route here.

We will end the hike with a well-deserved breakfast.

The best part of this unique hike is the reason we are doing it. Every hiker will raise or give 2,000 NIS that funds the treatment of hundreds of children with physical disabilities being treated at ALYN - Israel's only hospital exclusively dedicated to the rehabilitation of children with significant physical challenges. Registration is now full but you can inquire about the waiting list.
