In the heart of the ALYN Hospital School, a group of spirited children embarked on a project that would not only challenge their creativity but also celebrate the spirit of innovation that Israel is known for. As part of a Ministry of Education initiative, these children have created a virtual escape room game using the Genially platform, and allowed children, parents and staff at ALYN to participate.

We are thrilled to share with you the latest advancements from our Motion Analysis Laboratory (MAL), under the expert guidance of Dr. Simon-Henri Schless, the Director of the lab. 

On May 8th, ALYN Hospital's PARC: The Helmsley Pediatric and Adolescent Rehabilitation Research Center hosted a webinar titled "Children and Families as Partners in Clinical Care and Rehabilitation Research: Advocacy, Agency, Impediment" as part of PARC's monthly webinar series.

A few weeks ago Yonatan Razel paid a special visit to the children of ALYN. What made the visit even more special was that ALYN patient and YouTube sensation Yisrael Goldreich – "ילד הפלא על גלגלים (The Wonder-Kid on Wheels)" got to sing with him.

What a day! ALYN Hospital was thrilled to be invited to contribute our expertise to the Hackathon competition organized by The Blender - Innovation & Entrepreneurship Center, HAC. Director of PELE, Hilla Boral, and PELE Workshop Manager Ohad Gaal-Dor served as mentors and consultants to the innovators, while the General Manager of the ALYN PARC Helmsley Research Center and ALYNnovation, Arie Melamed Yekel, presided as a competition judge.

On March 11, 2024, Dr. Maurit Beeri, Director General of ALYN Hospital, met with a group of ALYN donors at the American Friends of ALYN Hospital office in New York City. She spoke at length on the topic of “ALYN Hospital’s response to the challenges of the war – both internally and externally.”

In the Jerusalem Post, Friends of ALYN Hospital Executive Director Naomi Liberman writes, "It is unfortunate that we need a crisis of the magnitude of October 7 to bring the global Jewish community together. But at times like this, it is heartening to know that we are not alone in our mission.

The Pediatric Motion Analysis and Biofeedback Rehabilitation Laboratory, headed by Dr. Simon-Henri Schless, is committed to studying motor control development in children, particularly those affected by cerebral palsy and acquired brain injuries.

She was a healthy, active girl – "and then 'BOOM.' The pain started. At the beginning it was just annoying, but then the pain became paralyzing. We went to a doctor, then to another doctor, then to three more doctors, but nobody saw anything and they all said that it would pass." Lior Amir (18) from Ma'ale Adumim was diagnosed with Complex Regional Pain Syndrome and got to the point where she could not function. Today, after treatment in ALYN Hospital, she has returned to her former self.
