The rehabilitative day care center is intended for toddlers aged 6 months to 3 years with developmental delays and rehabilitation needs who require rehabilitative and educational care. The toddlers are referred by a placement committee of the Ministry of Welfare, taking the parents’ request into consideration.
The rehabilitative day care center at ALYN accepts toddlers with varying levels of functioning. The treatment program is tailored to the individual needs of each toddler. Each toddler is assigned a Personal Rehabilitation Plan, based on the classroom’s daily schedule. Each toddler’s personal goals are integrated throughout the daily routine. Treatments are provided both individually and in groups.
The center’s staff includes kindergarten teachers, assistants, nurses, and health professionals: physiotherapists, occupational therapists, speech-language therapists, social workers, and a dietitian.

Treatments take place within the day care center and its surrounding area, using treatment rooms and an adapted playground.
Parents are key partners in the child’s care. We strive to maintain ongoing communication between the parents and the educational and therapeutic staff regarding treatment goals and progress. In order to encourage parental involvement in the treatment process and in setting treatment goals, we offer opportunities for parents to participate in treatment, private meetings, group activities, and guidance sessions for parents. During the toddler’s stay at the center, a home visit is conducted, enabling the treatment goals to be adapted to the home and family environment.
The Daycare Center staff is multicultural, and the daily work allows for a shared experience of different cultures in the educational setting. There is an accepting and respectful attitude towards every child, parent and staff member: everyone can pray according to their individual religion as well as follow their traditions and laws.
Medical staff at the center:
The center also includes children with medical needs, such as children who are ventilated using a ventilator, children with special feeding needs, and others. The center’s nurses and assistants are responsible for their medical needs, in accordance with the Ministry of Health’s guidelines. In emergencies, care is provided by the hospital’s medical staff.
The center’s staff specializes in treating a wide range of diagnoses, including: various types of cerebral palsy (CP), spina bifida, musculoskeletal disorders, neuromuscular degenerative diseases, complications of prematurity, feeding difficulties, neurological syndromes, mechanical ventilation, and complex medical conditions.
Annual schedule:
The center operates according to the schedule set each year by the Ministry of Welfare, which corresponds to the schedules of day care centers.
The school year begins on September 1 and ends on August 9.
Operating hours: Sunday to Thursday, from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.; Fridays, from 7:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
Transportation to the center: Transportation and escort services to the center are the responsibility of the local authority. Toddlers with medical needs are entitled to special transportation and an escort who has been trained to care for the toddler’s specific medical conditions.
