Dr. Naomi Gefen

Position: Deputy Director General of ALYN Hospital and ALYN PARC PI

Dr. Naomi Gefen, the Deputy Director General of ALYN Hospital Pediatric and Adolescent Rehabilitation Center in Jerusalem since January 2012. She is responsible for the allied health clinical services including occupational and physical therapy, speech and language pathology, psychology, social work and education. She is a principal investigator in the ALYN PARC Helmsley Research Center where she heads the domain of “Technology for Rehabilitation and Independent Function”.

Dr. Gefen is an occupational therapist with 30 years of experience specializing in assistive technology, medical devices, powered mobility and tele-rehabilitation for children with disabilities. She holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in occupational therapy from the Hebrew University in Jerusalem, a master's degree in public administration from the Harvard Kennedy School as a 2008 Wexner Israel Fellow and a PhD from the University of Haifa. During her 26 years in ALYN, Dr. Gefen was involved in the development of new services (e.g., National Website of Assistive Technology, Safe Transportation for Children with Disabilities and the ALYN Powered Mobility Lending Program).
