Dr. Keren Politi

Position: Head, Pediatric Neurology Services, ALYN Hospital and ALYN PARC PI

Has been head of the neurology service at ALYN Hospital Children and Adolescent Rehabilitation Center since 2020.  She graduated with an MD from Tel Aviv University’s Sackler School of Medicine and then specialized in paediatrics and pediatric neurology at Schneider Children's Medical Center (SCMC). Dr. Polit is a principal investigator at the ALYN Pediatric and Adolescent Rehabilitation Research Center (PARC) where her research is dedicated to neurophysiological monitoring of pediatric patients with different brain injuries and pathologies using standard electroencephalography (EEG) equipment and aEEG monitors. She conducts clinical prospective studies on the influence of different medical treatments on electrophysiological measures using EEG and EMG (electromyography). Dr. Politi also evaluates the applicability of different neuromodulative surgical treatments in patients with dyskinetic cerebral palsy and rehabilitation of neuromuscular disorders in the era of new genetic therapies.  She is currently investigating the potential of machine learning techniques for “big data” analysis. As the former head of neonatal neurology clinic at SCMC, Dr. Politi collaborates with Profs. Klinger and Soreq on a study examining the interplay between cholinergic tone and cortisol in early versus late preterm infants funded by the Israel Science Foundation.
