Dr. Kristal is an assistant professor in the Department of Physical Therapy at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine, Miami, Florida.

Dr. Kristal is an assistant professor in the Department of Physical Therapy at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine in Florida.

She received Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Physical Therapy from Tel Aviv University, and a PhD from the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. Prior to relocating to the United States, Dr. Kristal led physical therapy services at the Department of Orthopedic Rehabilitation at Sheba Medical Center. She also volunteered her clinical expertise following the 2010 earthquake in Haiti, directing Israel’s physical therapy efforts.

Dr. Kristal’s research is focused on developing outcome measures for people with lower-limb amputation (LLA). She led the Hebrew translation of the Amputee Mobility Predictor (AMP), adopted by the Israeli Ministry of Health as a mandatory preauthorization test for country-wide prosthetic prescriptions. Dr. Kristal is currently collaborating with Dr. Eylon’s team on developing and validating the Children’s Amputee Mobility Predictor (CAMP).
