In November 2007 a unique seminar entitled “Floating Voices” on the subject of conducting language, communication and speech therapy sessions in a therapeutic pool took place in Alyn. The lectures were given by Ms. Susan Nachimsom, a speech therapy expert from California who presented and demonstrated this unique approach to speech therapy before an audience of paramedical therapists from Alyn and from various medical facilities around the country. This method is now used by the speech and language therapists in Alyn and has been shown to contribute enormously to the rehabilitation of many of the children in Alyn’s care.
