Acquired Brain Injury Clinic
The clinic is multidisciplinary and includes a physician, psychologist, physiotherapist, occupational therapist and a social worker.
Children after mild head trauma who were discharged from the Emergency Room within 24 hours can present with problems necessitating follow up and treatment. ALYN’s Acquired Brain Injury Clinic is experienced in diagnosing and treating these problems.
Each child is evaluated separately by the different members of the team and at the end of the visit receives a letter combining the team’s findings and recommendations.
The children and adolescents seen at the clinic are after:
- Traumatic Brain Injury
- Vascular Brain Episode
- Brain Surgery
- Ischemic Brain Injury
Clinic evaluation includes:
Medical status, including medications, complications such as convulsions,
hydrocephalus, headaches, dizziness etc.
Problems with balance, movement and activities of daily living (ADL).
Emotional, educational and social difficulties.
